LEYF – A day in the life of a Nursery from Constellation Films on Vimeo.
The Brief
Part of a wider campaign to increase applications to LEYF nurseries, the central challenge was to inform and re-assure parents of the learning and care a child would receive at a LEYF nursery.
Challenges
To make a bright, fun and engaging film without distracting the children from their learning and fitting around the busy educational staff.
Production
After spending time with the children, Chris and the nursery staff timetabled a day of fun, visual activities that would engage the children and distract them from the presence of the camera. Paul and Chris then spent a day at the nursery, shooting everything from a child’s eye view to give the viewer as close to a child’s POV as possible. A highlight of was a music class run by composer Kevin Pollard, who interwove examples of the children’s approach throughout the film’s score.
