To direct an impactful short video that communicated the national and international scope of the charity using video material from the Christian Aid video library.
The video had to be written and edited in a day from footage owned by the charity. Conscious that most views typically drop off half way through a online video Chris created a three part narrative to the video: crisis, action and end message.
Chris spent the morning looking through the shots, selected an appropriate piece of music (again from Christian Aid’s archive) and assembled the final film. Music quickly became the key to the piece, lifting the dancing and demonstration scenes and re-enforcing a message of celebration, success and unity in collective action.
“Coming in as a freelancer and creating an engaging video that encapsulated what one of the UK’s biggest aid charities does around the world is no small feat. Yet Chris quickly understood and mastered the brief and absorbed Christian Aid’s story and ethos. His ability to quickly gel with the in house film team was also critical to getting the most out of our archive and finishing ahead of time to allow input from all our stakeholders.
